David McCubbin is an artist & writer, living between Melbourne and regional Victoria. David specialises in large scale painting commissions of pastoral and panoramic Australian landscapes, in the tradition of Von Guerard. With degrees in Fine Arts and Landscape Architecture from Melbourne University, David McCubbin’s wry social observations and historical references demonstrate a passion for the physical realm. His architectural drawings, rural landscapes and seascapes reveal a depth and breadth of cultural knowledge, partly due to an artistic pedigree, David’s great-grandfather was the celebrated Australian artist, Frederick McCubbin. David carries the torch of Melbourne Bohemianism from the 1890s through to the present day.
